Biography

Jim Howland co-founded CHHM in 1946 with classmates Holly Cornell and Burke Hayes, and Professor Fred Merryfield. The company eventually became CH2M Hill and Jim was general manager for many years and served as chairman of the board. He is still active with the company as a senior consultant. Jim has always been very involved in civic and professional service. He has been a supporter of OSU' s student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers for over 60 years and regularly gives talks to the students. Mr. Howland has received many honors, including OSU' s Distinguished Service Award and the Alumni Associations' s E.B. Lemon Distinguished Alumnus Award. He received ASCE' s John I. Parcel-Leif J. Sverdrup Engineering Management Award in 1984.
